BEING crowned Section A champions does not seem to have fixed King and Queen A's craving for victories.

The elite Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association Red Line Recruitment Monday League team creamed Grapes Inn 12-3 this week.

Bill Farrell, 21-9 and Ross Wightman, 21-10, were the stars of the show while Phil Little won 21-9 for the home side.

Alford Hall A triumphed 10-5 at Tetley A. Tony Reardon and Damian Carroll shared their sweep with 21-6 cards. Mark Tinning replied with a 21-2 success.

Wins from Cliff Badley, 21-5 and Paul Dickenson, 21-7, helped Farmers A to a 9-5 victory over GESM A. John Geraghty replied with a 21-8 card.

Grange A edged out St. Oswalds A 8-7. Their best performers were Damien Morrison, 21-5 and Alan Warburton, 21-10. Eddie Roberts prevailed 21-10 for St. Oswalds.

Grange B wrapped up the Section B title with a 10-5 victory at Eagle A. Their top players were Brian Wilkinson, 21-3 and Peter Begley, 21-8. W. McKechnie was the most impressive homester, winning 21-9.

Second-placed Monk Sports A suffered a 10-4 defeat at the hands of Bank Quay A.

S. Whittaker, 21-7 and D. Fisher, 21-9, excelled for the home side. Bill Carty and Keith Smith produced 21-9 cards for Monk.

Bulls Head A won 10-5 at Red Lion A with M. Baxter and Neill Hoult both returning 21-9 cards. Ken Ashton was the pick of the home bowlers, winning 21-3.

In Section C, second-placed Rylands B moved to within one point of leaders Cadishead Cons despite losing 9-5 at Post Office.

D. Gorton, 21-5, was the best home bowler. B. Nixon replied with a 21-8 card while Cadishead had a bye.

Wins from Chris Naylor, 21-9 and K. Deeley, 21-13, inspired St. Oswalds B to an 11-4 victory at British Rail.

Saracens Head recorded a 9-5 success against Farmers B. Mick Cartwright, 21-2 and C. McGuiness, 21-9, were their top winners. The best reply came from A. Manuel, 21-8.

Woolston B's 11-3 win against Tetley B included Mike Spencer's 21-7 card plus victories for A. Knight and Simon Harrison, 21-11. Neill Kelly took the visitors' sweep 21-7.

Burtonwood A moved into pole position in Section D with a 10-5 victory at previous leaders King and Queen. John Tabern, 21-9, was their ace in the pack. Gary Davenport took the home sweep 21-5.

Second-placed Stag A are only one point behind Burtonwood after defeating Fiddlers Ferry 11-3.

Dave Donoghue and D. Sawyer shared their sweep with 21-11 cards. L. Mason replied with a 21-3 success.

21-6 cards from M. Ellison and Joe Massey helped Pierpoints to a 13-1 victory over Hollins Park A while GESM B's 9-5 win against Culcheth Sports A included superb performances from K. Sutton, 21-5 and C. Anderson, 21-6.

Monk Sports B stormed to the top of Section E after a 13-1 demolition job on Tetley C. M. Norris' 21-4 card was backed up by 21-11 wins from J. Corrigan and R. Allen.

St. Albans B and Red Lion B drew 7-7. Mike Widdocks, 21-2 and Rob Lawrenson, 21-4, were St. Albans' shining lights while Jack Dunn and Phil Woodnutt returned 21-9 cards for Lion.

Smithys' 9-5 success over Brooklands B included good cards from P. Bate, 21-7 and G. Lee, 21-12. A. Harris was the top visitor, winning 21-10.

P. Nicholl's 21-10 card was backed by 21-11 wins from A. Oakes and M. Roane as Kings Club hammered Vulcan 12-2. J. Goode took the visitors' sweep 21-10.
