Cromwell Athletic showing their class

KEEP an eye on Cromwell Athletic under 10s this season in the Warrington Solvay Junior Soccer League.

They were a strong team in the under nines seven-a-side league games last season and have won four five-a-side tournaments this summer.

Everton scouts were so impressed with their standard that they asked the Cromwell team, based at Mary Anne Meadows, Westbrook, to play against their Academy side, which has been put together from players all over the area.

Cromwell put up a strong performance and only lost 2-1.

Second success

CHRIS Brown bagged a hat-trick against Hawkley as Warrington Town's Youth team maintained their 100 per cent start to the season.

Hawkley Youth were second best throughout. They conceded five goals in the first half before Brown completed his hat-trick after half-time.

The other goal scorers in Town's 6-0 success were Tony Burns, Colin Gurgle and Ben Norton while skipper Ian Flannery was the man of the match.
