RAINHILL seconds climbed up a few places in the Merseyside Cricket Competition First Division by bowling out the visitors Parkfield for only 54. Strike bowler Colin Gannon took 3-10 and Gary Cummins 3-15.

In reply the home side were struggling at 23/4 and then Phil Kelly 13 not out and Gary Cummins 21 not out steered them to a six wicket win.

The Sunday XI ensured a draw against Ormskirk Occasionals who knocked up 170 for 3 in 42 overs. The home side started cautiously and then scored heavier and going for the win with Adam Daniels top score on 35, Dennis Cowly 30 and David Crossley 11 not out to finish on 116 for 7 off 37 overs.
