WINSFORD'S Pubwatch scheme will be officially launched this Friday, August 29 at The Oddfellows in Station Road.
The project is an initiative that aims to make pubs in the town a safer place for residents to enjoy themselves in, and similar schemes in towns like Northwich and Crewe have been very successful.
Tommy Fearns, from The White Lion, in Delamere Street, is chairman of the scheme that will see landlords in the town combat violence and criminal conduct by providing better communication between the pubs and Cheshire Police.
Landlords will meet on a monthly basis at each other's pubs to share knowledge of offenders and even ban them from venues throughout the town.
