REFURBISHMENT work has begun at Winsford Job Centre as preparation for the launch of a new service.

The office in High Street will remain open while the work takes place and will last about three months. A spokesman apologised for any inconvenience that could be caused.

Jobcentre Plus will replace the employment service and benefits agency for customers of working age and government officials hope it should provide an enhanced service for jobseekers.

More than 250 of the new offices have been opened up across the country so far, and the aim is to bring advice and benefits services together under one roof in a user-friendly environment.
