A MASSIVE community clean up by residents has been held on the Stewards Avenue estate in Widnes.
Last Thursday's event was part of ongoing work in the area to encourage people to volunteer some of their time to help the community.
It was organised by Stewards Avenue Residents Association and the Kings Cross Project's volunteer mentors.
Volunteer mentors get involved in all kinds of different activities with children and young people.
The aim of the service is to help young people from disadvantaged circumstances on a one-to-one basis.
Kings Cross Project is currently recruiting volunteer mentors.
Some of their mentors have progressed into full time employment with the experience they have gained through projects like the Stewards Avenue clean up.
Full training will be given and people who want to make a real difference are encouraged to apply.
Kings Cross will also be launching a new service in October called Community Parents Volunteering.
If you are interested please contact Lydia or any mentors from the Kings Cross Project on 0151-420 4905.
