CROW Wood Park in Widnes hosted a family fun day last Thursday.
Friends of Crow Wood Park organised the day so people could enjoy themselves and at the same time find out about childcare, benefits and keeping healthy.
Attractions included climbing walls, a BBC information bus, face painting, bouncy castles and balloon making.
Joanne Watt of the early years partnership told people about childcare services and how to get started on careers.
"We talked to about 100 people over the day," she said.
"It was pouring down with rain but it didn't stop people coming out with their kids.
"We had quite a few people sign up for our free seven week course on childcare careers."
The different bodies at the fun day included Sure Start, the benefits office welfare rights team, Halton Borough Council's arts development team and the Halton healthy living project.
The day was also a chance for some public consultation and the message from the kids appeared to be - we need more to do in the summer!
Joanne said: "The children were saying there wasn't a lot going on, they want more in the park like a basketball court and sports facilities.
"They were really enthusiastic!"
