MY heart goes out to the lady whose beloved cat was knocked down and left to die.
Myself and other cat owners have experienced this ignorant 'don't care' attitude.
They don't think that it is someone's beloved pet and it is like losing a member of the family.
Also, what ignorant motorists don't know is, contrary to the 1911 Protection of Animals Act, they can be prosecuted for not stopping and leaving the animal to suffer unnecessarily.
If a passer-by saw you hit the cat and not stop to try and help it, they can take your number and report you. Myself and countless others would certainly do that.
