A PENSIONER'S luncheon club is going from strength to strength after being relaunched.
Churchill Hall luncheon club had ended when its organiser left, but the group is back up and running and is inviting new members to join in the fun.
The club is based at Churchill Hall on Cooper Street in Runcorn, and £2.30 buys you a hot three-course meal as well as raffle and bingo tickets, from 11.30am to 12.45pm every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
New organiser Maggie Watkinson said: "It's a good laugh. The elderly are good fun but it's open to everybody.
"We just do really give them a good time and they enjoy it."
The club has a special wartime nostalgia luncheon planned for November 7, complete with hot pot supper, land girl uniforms and Vera Lynn records.
Maggie, 51, said: "We'll be playing the sound of planes and some of the little ones will be flashing torches like searching."
Another innovation the club is looking to introduce is mingling with a teenagers' club that is based at the same site.
The club also take meals out to regulars who are ill and can't make it in.
"We deliver to the ones that can't get around and take their meals to them," said Maggie.
