FRUITCAKES, photographs of toadstools and animals made out of cauliflowers, were just some of the entries on display at the Frodsham 'Grow it and Make it' show.
This year's competition, formerly the Frodsham Horticultural Show, attracted a high number of quality entries and the whole day was a great success.
Avril Johnson, organiser, said: "We had a record number of entries and a record number of people coming along in the afternoon.
"We are always working to build on the success of previous years and we are starting planning for next year's show which will take place on September 4."
The judging for the competition took place in the morning in the community centre.
All the judges found that their job was not an easy task as the standards of all the entries was very high.
They did leave advice or comments for all the entries to ensure that everybody got feedback on their efforts.
Cards and small cash prizes were presented to first, second and third-place winners.
The children's section was as popular as ever and the judges agreed that all the children had put a lot of thought and effort into their work which made it very difficult to pick winners.
All the children received certificates for their work.
The car park was brimming with people seeking advice and buying some of their favourite shrubs and flowers at the planters' fair and bargains and tasty treats were picked up at the Women's Institutes' indoor market.
