PEOPLE who have had heart attacks are being encouraged to get back on their bikes.

Warrington Heart Support Group and the Warrington Cycle Campaign have joined forces with the aim of starting a new project in the town to promote the benefits of cycling.

Ian Tierney, who runs the Cardiac Rehabilitation Scheme in Stockport, came to talk to the campaigners about how cycling can help people who have had heart attacks get back on the road to fitness - and stay fit.

Cyclists will be getting together on Sunday, September 21, for a ride to Walton Hall Gardens where a bike doctor event is taking place. Groups will be setting off from Woolston Park ranger centre and Bewsey Old Hall at 11am, and Lymm Cross at 11.15am.
