A FASCINATING day out is promised by DAN's heritage tour on Saturday, September 6.
The coach leaves Northwich Memorial Hall at 9am and pick-ups are available in Winsford, Davenham, Sandiway, Weaverham and Hartford.
First call is at the Canal Wharf in Burnley where attractions include a pub in a converted warehouse and a museum in the Wharfmaster's house.
On the other side of the town the tour will pass near Queen Street Mill. It was the last steam powered cotton mill in the country and the engine will start up while the tour is there. 0nly 200 of over 1,000 looms were preserved and only a few of them remain in use.
A one hour lunch break is taken in the historic market town of Ilkley before a drive over Ilkley moor, to end the day at Shibden Hall, a small gritstone manor house on the edge of an urban district.
Tickets are £14 and are available from the DAN Office in Northwich Library by ringing 01606 41597.
