WORRIED residents living on Dudlow Green Road, Appleton, may be relieved to know that plans for a new medical centre are far from concrete.

Health bosses from Warrington Primary Care Trust are currently considering the various options following a public exhibition that was held last month.

Residents expressed worry over the plans that could lead to the demolition of the existing parish hall.

Some people also said that the proposals could lead to more accidents through excessive traffic.

Dudlow Green Road resident, Arthur Parker, told the Guardian: "Local people are not against a medical centre as such but they are objecting to where it is being placed. I have taken 300 letters out to people and a lot of them are raising serious doubts."

He said that a letter from the PCT confirmed that options are being "reassessed in the light of the multitude of community issues".

A spokesman for the PCT said that the development was in the "very early stages" and that they are looking into the issues raised by the community.
