I REALLY enjoyed watching Sunday's win at Widnes. I thought it was a great defensive effort from our lads, with Widnes throwing everything at us - what a difference a week makes!
At 4-0 I thought that was about right at half time but I thought the second half score flattered us a little because Widnes tackled really well, even going into the second half. It was like a proper, rugged local derby. But credit to our lads, the big difference was our ability to capitalise on the half chances.
I thought John Stankevitch had a fine game, you could see he wanted to mark out his patch, especially with it being his home town. Sean Long's kicking game was also very astute and Paul Wellens was again outstanding.
You can always tell when it is Wigan week by the buzz in the camp and it is about time we settled the score. They have won five out of the last six, which is quite a turn around in fortunes. Although a big focus has been on how well their kids have done, it is their big forwards who have created the platform.
But we are playing well and winning, 10 out of 11 is not a bad record, and we aim to keep winning in our final three games - Wigan, Leeds and Bradford.
We need to keep up the momentum for the play-offs.
