GOOD old fashioned luxury made an appearance at Bank Quay station last week, when the Orient Express welcomed aboard Kingsway couple Gordon and Mary Park for an all-expenses-paid trip to Edinburgh.
Gordon won the trip in a raffle held by Warrington charity SPARC, Supporting People Achieving Real Choice, which finds work for young disabled people.
Gordon and Mary's daughter, Lisa, is a member of SPARC and has been assisted to find work as a nursery assistant. Earlier this year she was invited to attend the Queen's garden party with her mum.
SPARC staff and members sold tickets to colleagues, family, friends and to visitors and exhibitors at Disability Awareness Day at Walton Hall Gardens, where the winning ticket was drawn.
The prize, which was generously donated by Andrew Overton, the general manager of Northern Belle Ltd, of Manchester, attracted a huge amount of interest and raised more than £500 for SPARC funds.
