CREWE schoolgirl Shanaze Reade has joined a handful of film stars, entrepreneurs and sports people as a golden girl of the future.

The 14-year-old, of Chetwode Street, is one of an elite group of 20 young people from across the country named on a Rich List for 2020.

Phillip Beresford, author of the Sunday Times Rich List was commissioned by the Bank of Scotland to locate the young millionaires of the future.

Champion BMX rider Shanaze, is named at number 20 on the list which estimates she will be worth some £3m in 17 years.

She joins the likes of Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell, who is fifth on the list, Everton and England striker Wayne Rooney, who is eighth, and pop star Amy Studt in 14th place.

The teenager's entry states: "Shanaze is a girl with big ambitions. A champion BMX rider, she has already won three European Junior titles in a row and finished second at the 2001 World Championships in Kentucky.

"In 2002 she was crowned European champion and is currently training for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where she dreams of picking up a gold for Great Britain.

"Shanaze advises other talented young people that, to succeed they need to be completely dedicated to what they do: 'follow your dreams and don't let anything stand in your way'."

The list was topped by 19-year-old entrepreneur Carl Churchill, who is credited with an earning potential of £100million from his Internet business.

Shanaze, who will be 15 later this month, became hooked on riding BMX bikes five years ago and has since been a member of Cheshire Ghostriders.

The Victoria Community School pupil said: "I think it is brilliant. I do want to become a millionaire - not by winning the Lottery but through riding my bike.'
