A COUPLE from Cinnamon Brow who first met at a cleaners are set to celebrate a sparkling 50 years together tomorrow, Friday.
And the bond between Ethel Wilson, and her 'toy boy' Gordon is still as strong as ever.
Romance blossomed over the washers at Metro Cleaners in Dixon Street for 72-year-old Ethel and Gordon, aged 70.
Following four years of courtship, they were married at the now-demolished St Peter's Church, Hamilton Street, and have not looked back since.
Former Thames Board supervisor Gordon's common sense recipe for success is simple: "You've just got to work at it," he said.
Tomorrow their six great-grandchildren, 14 grandchildren and four sons and two daughters will help them to mark the golden occasion with a reception at Cinnamon Brow Farm Club.
The couple, of Gairloch Close, enjoy the simple things in life and are devoted to their extended family.
