THE 2003 season drew to a close this week in Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association's Cheshire Funeral Services Friday League.

St. Oswalds A took the elitist Section A title with more than a 100-point cushion.

Grange A finished second, King and Queen A were a further 50 points behind in third and Alford Hall A came fourth.

Grange B were the winners of Section B. They finished 117 points ahead of second-placed Hollins Park B while Rylands B and St. Oswalds B came third and fourth respectively.

The Section C title went to King and Queen B by 37 points from second-placed Pierpoints A. Cadishead Cons took third spot and Tetley B grabbed fourth.

Post Office wrapped up the Section D title ahead of Stag A in second and GESM B third. Crosfields A finished in fourth place.

Smithys were crowned Section E champions. Alford Hall B were 70 points back in second place while Rylands C took third and Fiddlers Ferry came fourth.

Kings Club A were victorious in Section F. They finished 40 points clear of the chasing pack which included second-placed Orford, third-placed Eagle B and fourth-placed Croft.
