Pallister to aid Hawthorne

EX-Manchester United ace Gary Pallister will be the guest speaker when Cheshire Hawthorne Football Club stage a fund-raising sportsman's dinner at Bank Quay Sports Club on September 13.

BURTONWOOD Bulldogs Junior Rugby League Club have begun training in preparation for the forthcoming campaign.

Sessions take place at Fir Tree Lane sports field and new players are required for all of the club's age groups.

Bulls shaky

BANK QUAY Bulls had a shaky start to their North West Counties Amateur Rugby League Division Two campaign but won 45-38 at Oldham St. Annes.

Bulls were 44-16 ahead with 20 minutes to go and then almost suicidally took their foot off the gas.
