CABINET Minister John Reid visited St Helens last week and got a first-hand look at the initial stages of the £230 million redevelopment of the town's hospitals.
The Secretary of State for Health visited both Whiston and St Helens hospitals. During his tour around the Peasley Cross site he laid a foundation stone at the ward currently being constructed. The facility is the first stage in the massive improvement programme planned for both hospitals.
