NEWTON Methodist Church in Cross Lane is holding an autumn fair on Saturday, September 13, from 1.30pm onwards.
Overseas secretaries from the Makerfield circuit of Methodist Churches which include Ashton, Burtonwood, Golborne, Haydock, Lowton and Newton run the event which promises good quality stalls at bargain prices.
Apart from the usual cakes, books and white elephant stalls there will also be new ones selling holiday gifts, arts materials, toiletries and cosmetics, greengrocery and plants and a children's stall with bran tubs.
There will also be a drapery stall so visitors are advised to have measurements for curtains and nets in hand before arriving.
The fair will be opened by NADOS nippers, the children's amateur dramatics group, who will sing a small selection of songs from their show.
All proceeds will go towards orphans, the mentally ill, street children and medicines for HIV/AIDS-related diseases. There will also be a photo display and video throughout the afternoon showing the causes benefiting form the event.
Admission is 20p excluding refreshments. Everyone is welcome.
