HAYDOCK fully deserved their win in scoring four tries to one, but it was anyone's game up to the last eight minutes.
Brook had the majority of possession in the first half, but Haydock held firm.
Haydock got the first point of the the day with a drop goal from Forber after 10 minutes.
Good runs by Marsh and Pickering put Haydock on the attack again and a darting run from Bloor went to Shaw who did well to put in Appleton at the corner to put Haydock 5-0 ahead after 15 minutes.
But from the kick off Haydock made an error and from the resulting scrum Blackbrook got over in the corner when good passing created an overlap to put Maloney in to make the score 5-4 to Haydock after 17 minutes.
Blackbrook kept up the pressure but good tackling by Cahalin, Bloor and Carroll kept them out.
A drop goal by Shaw levelled the scores after 28 minutes. Strong running by Appleton, Marsh and Boland put Haydock on the attack and Tickle was unlucky not to score when he put a foot in touch.
Blackbrook went 7-5 in front when O'Toole kicked a penalty five minutes from half time.
The second half belonged to Haydock who were the more dominant team.
Haydock went on the attack and Bloor gave a nice ball for Cahalin to go crashing over to score to put Haydock 9-7 in front.
Good running from Appleton, Ireland and Cahalin put Haydock on top.
A perfect pass from Forber saw strong running forward Marsh burst his way through tackles to score a good try on 61 minutes.
Blackbrook's Toole slotted a penalty to make it 13-9 to Haydock .
Cooper went close and so did Shaw but Brook held out and with Brook trying to bring the ball away from their line, 30 yards out Saunders intercepted and ran unopposed to score a good try.
The only conversion of the match for Haydock came from Pickering to make it 19-9.
A good performance from the Haydock lads who fully deserved the victory. Outstanding from Haydock were Cahalin, Bloor, Marsh, Appleton and Cooper. Outstanding for Brook was Mitchell.
