PEOPLE looking for jobs in Vale Royal can get a free ride to a major event that will bring a variety of employers under the same roof as hundreds of jobseekers.
Vale Royal Jobsfair will be taking place at Winsford Civic Hall on Monday, September 22, between 10am and 4pm and aims to further improve the borough's unemployment rate.
Far from being a major issue, unemployment levels in Vale Royal are below the national average - but the jobsfair is the ideal chance for people to find out about vacancies from across the employment spectrum.
Launched four years ago by the Jobcentre, the event is now supported by Vale Royal Borough Council, Cheshire County Council, Connexions, the Learning and Skills Council and Arriva bus services.
It has grown from strength to strength - and organisers are expecting around 500 people to attend on the day.
And this year people can get free transport to the event on any Arriva service, as long as they produce a completed coupon, available from the Jobcentre.
Around 50 exhibitors will be offering a mixture of full and part time work, suggesting there should be something for everyone.
Sue Bailey, from Winsford Jobcentre, said: "It's a very important event because it's an ideal medium to get employers and jobseekers in one venue, under one roof talking to each other. We are expecting in the region of about 500 people to turn up on the day.
"Not every job comes through to the Jobcentre, so it's also nice to bring in new employers that have not come to us before."
