CALLING all comedians. A new venue is Winsford is looking for someone to take on a challenge at the opening night.
A new comedy club, opening in Winsford Civic Hall, on Sunday, September 14, has space for a comedian to take a five minute open-mic spot.
This will help get the audience warmed-up for headline act Justin Moorhouse from Channel 4's Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights.
Ian Fox, who is organising the night's entertainment, said: "Ideally I would like to find someone from Winsford to give them a chance to get on the same stage as the professionals and to find out if they have what it takes to be stand up comic."
Ian, from Tarporley, decided to open a comedy club in Winsford because there is not anything else like this in the area.
He added: "I already run one in Stockport and wanted to get one going here because, apart from a stand-up club in Chester, there's nothing like this around here."
All details can be found on the website www.wildcatcomedy.co.uk
