RUNCORN failed to widen the gap between themselves and their nearest relegation rivals, losing 1-0 away at Redditch on Saturday.
A single goal conceded early in the game put paid to the Linnets hopes of taking advantage of Moor Green's home defeat and going four points clear of the drop zone.
In difficult, windy conditions attractive, passing football was rare but chances were not - Redditch's Scott Rickard's close-range effort breaking the deadlock after just 13 minutes.
Runcorn threatened through Philip Denney, Michael Jack and Tom Taylor but couldn't find a way to end their six game winless run.
Next game is a home fixture against Ashton United at Valerie Park in Prescot on Saturday, April 9.
