ORGANISERS of the Round Winsford fun run are appealing for competitors to make this year's event a huge success.

The event, organised by Leighton Hospital Prostate Cancer Support Group, will take place on Sunday, June 26, with courses for people of all levels of fitness.

The run will start at Winsford Cricket Club, Knights Grange and include a nine mile 'run for fun' for the fitter athletes and a four mile 'walk and talk' course for people who would prefer to ride a bicycle or walk the dog.

This year's event will also feature a family fun day with entertainment from Ross Campbell and the Clan Wallace pipe band from Liverpool.

There will be cash prizes for competitors who finish in first, second and third places and organisers are urging people to get training early.

Gary Steele, chairman of the support group, said: "We now know that an active body and mind is a good preventative in the fight against cancer so come along and enjoy the occasion while keeping fit and helping those in need."

Entrance to the run costs £5 and for more information call Gary Steele on 01606 553097.
