SECURITY is to be stepped up at Knights Grange Sports Complex following incidents of vandalism and anti-social behaviour.

The complex is again being targeted by vandals and police are now going to step up patrols in the area.

Sgt Ian Wood of Winsford CAT team said: "We are trying to get lighting improved and are also looking at the possibility of getting gates installed."

The issue of vandalism was raised again last week by town councillors Des Worthington and Peter Gannon after a section of fencing was burned down.

Sgt Wood said: "We are having a meeting with people from sports and leisure to see what can be done.

"The problem is that it is such an immense area so it is difficult to ensure total security."
