A RUNCORN man has pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and a burglary.

Craig Owen stole from two teenage boys on January 3. Owen, 17, held down a 13-year-old near to St Chad's Catholic high and stole his ring - another attacker is believed to have been involved.

The same night he took part in a robbery where a 17-year-old was kicked in the head on a path alongside Hallwood Park. Owen helped take the boy's watch, mobile phone and wallet, leaving the victim with cuts and bruises to his head. Again another attacker is believed to have been involved.

Owen was also linked to three burglaries.

His footprint was also traced to a home in Wellington Street where a woman had disturbed a raider armed with a hammer in her bedroom on December 11. He pleaded guilty to burglary.

And Owen has admitted to two counts of handling stolen goods. This came after jewellery was taken in a second burglary at the Wellington Street address, and after £90 and other property was stolen from a home in Windsor Grove.

Police recovered property from Owen's room at Halton Lodge YMCA. One of the investigating officers, Det Con Sarah Davis, said: "The female victim from Wellington Street has been left fearful and distressed by the horrific raid at her home."

Owen appeared before Warrington Crown Court. He is awaiting sentence.
