WITH regard to schoolchildren crossing the busy A556, a spokesman for Cheshire County Council has said a safety assessment was carried out and the route meets with requirements.
This of course is true if the children use the route but as they will find the quickest way to and from school, who wants to be responsible for the preventable death of a student en route to or from school?
Not all can afford the 55p for other transportation - and in today's world, where a dual income is needed, who will be there to look out for our kids?
I have a friend who lives in Northwich and as a mother of school age children I found this article to be upsetting, as recently in the States a young child was killed crossing a major highway and I wanted to respond as a parent.
