to hunters
I ALWAYS felt from my observations of the huge police presence at hunts in Cheshire that they were there acting as security guards for the hunters.
As far as I am concerned, whenever members of the hunt misbehaved in any number of ways, never did the police act, always turning a blind eye.
Now hunting is illegal, from your article it appears I was right. The police simply don't want to know when informed of illegal hunting.
Hunters who continue to flout the law should be dealt with in the same way as motorists - that would soon deter them from their criminal activities.
Meanwhile I urge members of the public to keep informing the police when they see hunts chasing a deer, fox or hare with dogs, which is now illegal.
