THE award-winning Watermill Theatre's touring production of The Comedian comes to Plumley Village Hall on Saturday April 16 for one night only.

Ade Morris' latest work is a bitter-sweet play, brimming with sparkling old gags that will touch the hearts of all who see it.

Jimmy Baker (Shaun Hennessy) is an ageing alternative comedian with history.

He's lived the past 30 years in the public eye, loving and living for the laughter.

Wet weekend

But over a wet weekend in Brighton, Jimmy confronts his own inspirations and personal ghosts, his estranged, strange daughter, and his loyal audience, to find out what's left to laugh at and why.

The Comedian is the latest brilliant new production from the internationally-renowned Watermill Theatre, a sharp, bitter-sweet comedy about all our families, who they are and what - if anything - we owe them

It's also about how love can hide in complicated corners and the love and responsibilities we have for our children, whether we realise it or not.

The Comedian is not suitable for anyone under 15.

For tickets (£5) to the 7.30pm performance call 01565 722848.
