Egerton U8 0
Macclesfield U8 0
ON a beautiful warm and sunny day Egerton treated their fans to a magnificent display of skills and teamwork.
They demonstrated great awareness of both their opponents and team mates' positions.
Will Booth tackled abundantly, winning back the ball on numerous occasions and passing the ball on wisely.
Adam Codling showed great control of the ball and battled hard on the wing to keep possession.
Paul Butler continued to impress with his constant improvement, taking an accurate corner that Egerton were unlucky not to convert.
Joe Lasham intercepted the ball well, passing it neatly to Sam Cosgrove who had a couple of shots at goal that were either just slightly wide or saved by the Macclesfield goalkeeper.
Egerton defended well freeing themselves from aggressive tackles by the opposition.
Josh Wates was brave and determined in defence, allowing very little to get past him.
Jack Henty made an important save when Macclesfield did manage to break free and Henty was left unusually without back up.
Barney Wynne was exciting to watch as he took the ball around a player to set up William Abbotts who had a shot or two at goal that never quite hit the mark.
Although Egerton had many opportunities to score, they were really unfortunate not to have at least one shot turn into a goal.
