KNUTSFORD A Team conceded defeat to an impressive Radcliffe Borough side in the spring sunshine at Manchester Road on Saturday.

The Reds were well below their best and against one of the best young teams in the league this was a bad time to have an off day.

Knutsford's vulnerability at set pieces was evident as early as the 11th minute, when the visitors' classy centre half thumped home an unchallenged header from the first corner of the game.

Punished

Knutsford's line-up looked promising but too many players failed to find their best form on the day and were duly punished.

At 2-0 down at the break, Knutsford showed only a marginal improvement in the second half and when they went 3-0 down it was all but over.

The home side's substitution however gave them some hope when Andy Hart pulled a goal back with a great finish in the 75th minute.

Fellow substitute David Clift was at the centre of Knutsford's best football in the later stages but his occupation as a GP means he is not always available, more is the pity on this performance.

The home side pushed men forward in search of some reward but in doing so, conceded too much space to their impressive opponents and the game slid away from them.

On Saturday the A team are at home to Wythenshawe Town, kick of at Manchester Road is 2pm:

TEAM: L Davies, T Nelson, C Rovira, A Jackson, M Simcock, J Morphet, A Watson, M Stimpson, J Da Costa, H Clayton. Substitutes: A Hart, D Clift, D Horseley.
