WINNINGTON Park RUFC rediscovered their early season form in spectacular style with a 63-0 win over already relegated Blackburn.

Park opened the scoring after 11 minutes when Rick Smith broke a couple of tackles and Johnny Evans and Sam Barton combined to release Mike Gallimore.

Gallimore returned the ball to Evans who crossed the line for an excellent score.

Ben Barton added a penalty after 30 minutes and Gallimore then crossed the line after good work from Smith, Matt Shillabeer and Andy Barnes.

And Park made it 20-0 just before the break. Park were camped on their own line when Mark Warr made a switch to Ben Barton to open up the Blackburn defence.

Sam Barton continued the move for Shillabeer to get his first try of the season and Ben Barton kicked the long-range conversion.

After the break the scoring continued with Ben Barton again putting over a penalty before Gallimore added his second try of the afternoon.

Mark Patterson made a searing break through the Blackburn midfield and Gallimore completed the move. Ben Barton added the conversion to open up a 30-0 lead.

And it was soon 37-0 when Gallimore crossed the line again for his hat trick and Barton added another conversion.

At this stage Park were reduced to 14 men when Warr was forced to leave the field after sustaining an eye injury.

Captain Matt Dodd was the next to score when he benefited from a clever lineout to barge over.

Barton converted again to make it 44-0.

Sam Barton got the next score as it became one way traffic. Gallimore broke from defence and a nice pirouette from Patterson set Sam on his way.

Ben Barton took the score over 50 with an individualistic chip and chase, converting his own try to make it 56-0.

And Patterson got the final try. Smith seemed to have got to the line after another surging break and Dodd linked well to send Patterson over.

Ben Barton's conversion was a formality and Park registered their biggest win for many years.

Winnington entertain Aspatria at Burrows Hill on Saturday, with kick off at 3pm. They then round off the season at joint league leaders Stockport on April 23.
