PLAYING their fourth match in eight days and still, with five new players, to have a training session together, Albion produced a tremendous display that had Leek Town on the back foot.

On 16 minutes Adam Foy produced superb control work before threading the ball through to Danny Byrne on the left. Byrne looked up and set a curling shot around keeper Mark Cartwright that unfortunately went wide of the far post.

Albion's on-loan keeper Jon Kennedy then immediately did well to produce an improvised clearance from virtually under his crossbar following an attempted back pass from Brian Pritchard.

Then on 20 minutes Ian Latham sent over a cross from the left wing that needed a flying save from Cartwright to deny Foy what would have been a fine headed goal.

Albion fell behind on 25 minutes when a challenge from Ged Nolan sent former Northwich Vics midfielder Phil Hadland stumbling into the box.

Although the initial offence was outside the box the referee pointed to the spot and Dean Crowe converted.

Albion responded well and drew level seven minutes later. Mike Moseley played a delightful ball to Byrne who took on his marker before delivering a perfect cross for Lee Spike to head powerfully past Cartwright.

After the break Witton were the much stronger side and took the lead on 60 minutes.

Spike passed to Byrne who hit a low, hard shot beyond Cartwright and into the net at the far post.

Albion were denied an excellent win when Leek equalised on 78 minutes.

An outstanding free kick saw Crowe bury a shot that gave Kennedy no chance at all.
