Jackie

Jackie Recchia, currently serving as Church Army Officer at St Elphin's, has announced her decision to train for ordination.

"There'll be two year's part time training and I am due to be ordained Deacon in June 2007, and priested the following year", the congregation learned last Sunday.

Calling singers

There's a call out for all choral singers from Norman Cutter in Grappenhall.

On Saturday, April 16, at St Wilfrid's Church there will be a full day choral workshop culminating in a performance in the evening, and Norman has supplied the details.

"You are invited to learn and perform Alexander's Feast by G. F. Handel under the baton of John Bethell with soloists from the Royal Northern College of Music."

Mr Bethell writes: "I trust that you will join us in singing this remarkable and tuneful work."

Organised by the Making Music North West Committee, the programme will start at 10am and finish at 5.30pm.

Workshops will take place throughout the day.

The evening performance will start at 7pm and tickets, priced £5, can be obtained on the door.

The cost for the day is £10 per singer. Copies of the music will be available for hire on the day but must be pre-ordered.

Hire copies will cost £10 (cash on the day) with a refund of £5 when the copy is returned at the end of the day.

For full details, telephone Miss N Dale on 01606 42641.

Fashion

Fair 4 All is holding its second fashion show on April 13 at the Park Royal Hotel at 7.30pm.

Tickets will cost £4.50 and include coffee and cake.

Many of the clothes are made from organic cotton and all are fairly traded, so everyone involved in their production has had the dignity of a fair wage and good working conditions.

Tickets are available at the Fair 4 All stall in Warrington Market, or by calling 495217.
