MY sister and I would like you to be aware of the most sensitive, loving and homely care that our father, Stanley Yuile, received at The Glen Residential Home for the Elderly in Grappenhall.

Stan was a resident at The Glen from January last year until his death on March 24. During his time at The Glen he was treated as a respected individual and shown affection by all members of staff.

He loved the fun and banter with the staff. Stan was very poorly for the past five weeks of his life and needed constant care and nursing. This was given unstintingly and with due regard for his dignity by all of the staff.

In these days when residential homes and staff are subjected to bad press, The Glen has shown what a compassionate residential home for the elderly should be like.

We would like to thank Ali and Pat, the owners; Hazel, Gwen and Jean, the nurses; Sue Ann, Rachel and Bev, the care assistants; Aggie and Brenda, the cooks. All of these people were like his second family and they have our heartfelt gratitude.
