MEMBERS visited Betws-Y-Coed, North Wales and the A party, led by Brian Sayer, started their walk at Dolgarrog Halt Station, going to Pont Dolgarrog, Pont Newydd, Lyn Cowlyd Reservoir, Craig Wen, Cornel Tan-Y-Llin, Hafnamine, Kneebone Mine, Llyn-Y-Parc and then to the finish for 14 miles.
Keith Bridle led the B party from Pont Dolgarrog and then climbing up the Afon Ddu Valley to Llin Cowlyd Reservoir, and then it was on to Mean Trichwmwd and then down to Capel Curig, up again to Clogwyn, Mawr, Afon Abrach and then finally around the back of Swallow Falls to Betwys-Y-coed for 12.5 miles.
Starting in Betws-y-Coed, the C party, led by Ken Cork, headed through the forest to Lynn Parc Reservoir, then it was a steady climb to Llanrhychwyn. The party then followed the river to the finish for a distance of nine miles.
Lucy Fitzsimmons' D party climbed to Llyn Elsi and descended through the forest to Rhiwadolion, and then by way of the Roman road to the Ugly House on the banks of the river Llugy for eight miles. For club details call 604384.
