THE body of a Warrington police officer killed in a road smash in Thailand has been brought back to England.
PC Kevin Brinkman, aged 33, was in Phuket helping to identify bodies of tsunami victims as part of the British police's response team to the disaster.
He died following the smash, which also left two other Cheshire Constabulary officers injured, last Tuesday afternoon, local Thailand time.
PC Brinkman, who lived in Northwich, had served as a police officer for more than 10 years, working as a uniformed patrol officer based at Warrington and Stockton Heath before joining the town's community action team.
He was awarded a chief constable's commendation for bravery back in 2002 after his role in arresting two armed robbers who attacked a jeweller's shop in Stockton Heath.
