CREWE boss Dario Gradi was pleased with his players after a dominant second half against Notts Forest.

Neil Sorvel's 71st minute leveller secured the Alex's third consecutive 1-1 draw in last Saturday's crunch match at the Alexandra Stadium.

"It was a remarkable game," he explained.

"I thought at half time the difference between winning and losing might be Jonah's miss and the fact the goalkeeper dropped a clanger.

"I don't mind honest mistakes and Ben didn't do well enough. He knows that and he has apologised.

"People do make mistakes but we don't need people making them at this stage of the season, we need to be mistake free.

"But I thought the boys were terrific because they showed great spirit even though they were being whacked early on.

"Forest were flying about and we got the ball down and tried to play which is good when we are in a relegation fight but we fizzled out a bit and didn't look like we were going to score.

"Gary (Megson) might think he didn't do the right thing going to 4-5-1 because that gave us the ascendancy."

Crewe had enough chances to take all three points in the final 30 minutes.

"Jonah had a few in the second half and perhaps we lacked his quality of earlier in the season," added Gradi.

"People think Andy White at 6ft 4ins will come in and bury those but the fact of the matter is he doesn't.

"He can do but you never know if he will head them in or not.

"But he goes on and gets us some fouls and causes problems.

"If Gareth Taylor had come in on that one at the end it would have been goodnight but Colin Murdock handled him well."
