PARENTS are warned to be on their guard after reports of a man approaching young girls in Widnes.
Police believe the six cases may be linked.
Most times the man has just talked to girls the asked them to come with him.
He approached four girls within two hours - he was described as aged 20 to 30, wore a black bobble hat, a black top with writing on the chest and also wore black pants.
The girls have been aged from eight to 16.
In the last incident a man grabbed a 16-year-old girl in Milton Avenue but she pushed him away and managed to run home.
This man was described as 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall. He wore something covering his face.
Police are asking people who have been approached to come forward and would like parents to be aware of the danger children face when unsupervised.
Anyone with information should contact Det Con Darren Riley or Jim Earlam on 01244-613735 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
