BRENDAN Hennessy finished off a great week with a goal as Cheshire Hawthorne produced a shock in the Warrington Sunday Soccer League Premier Division.

Hennessy, who had scored for Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds on Saturday after also being on target in their Guardian Cup triumph on Easter Monday, struck along with Paul Wright, Leon Nowel and Andrew Rathmill as Hawthorne blitzed leaders Ryder 4-1.

In Division One, a Mark Thompson brace and another goal from Mike Bramhall helped Wilkies to a 3-1 win against Penketh and Sankey Eagle.

Socrates made it 16 goals in a week as they hammered Crosfields 8-0 in Division Two, with a hat-trick from Ged McAllister, two from Craig Hoyland and other strikes from Gavin May, John Williams and Chris Thompson making it a match to remember.

There were also goals galore when Red Lion faced Turf and Feather, as the two sides produced an amazing 5-5 draw, with Lee Murphy and Stan Platt both scoring twice for Red Lion.

Sixteen-year-old substitute Mark Atkinson scored the winner as Grange Hawthorne overcame Farmers Arms 3-2, with Grange's other goals being scored by Lee Fairclough and Robin Howard.

Matthew Jackson scored but then missed a penalty for Ridgeway Park, who were made to pay when Tully Park Rangers conjured up a late equaliser.

Rams Head beat The Original Wire 4-2 in Division Three to keep in touch at the top, with a Stuart Norman brace - together with strikes from Paul Wheeldon and Mike Corrie - earning victory against a Wire side that had Stuart Quinn and Pete Clarke on target.

In other matches, Matt Hewitt and Ian Calder scored as Commercial Exhausts beat Five Star Athletic 5-2, General Electronique's Jamie Pates got the only goal of the game against Dog and Partridge, and Jason Heath struck in Spa Brook's 1-1 draw with Victoria Kings Park.
