NORTHWICH Victoria ended their relegation fears as they beat Leigh RMI 2-0 last night, Tuesday.

Vics went into the game knowing that a victory could ensure they played in the Conference next season.

But watching fans had to sweat on the result for Vics took until the 72nd minute to open their account through Peter Band.

Five minutes later, Paul Brayson calmed supporters nerves by doubling the lead and Vics hung on to beat already relegated RMI. It was his fifth goal since returning to the club from a loan spell at Gateshead.

It was a triumph for the club which had 10 points deducted at the started of the season after it went into administration.
