RELIVE the rock n' roll era when rocker Alvin Stardust takes to the stage at Northwich Memorial Hall.

Currently appearing as the Childcatcher in the smash hit musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in the West End, Alvin has been given special leave to appear for one night only on Friday, April 29.

He will be performing his rock n' roll show, supported on stage by The Stardust Rock n' Roll Rhythm Group, which has been playing to audiences across the country.

Alvin will be playing the hits of Elvis, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochrane, The Everly Brothers and much more plus his own hits, which include his first release My Coo Ca Choo.

He shot to stardom in the 70s and despite already having four hit singles under the name of Shane Fenton, his debut single as Alvin Stardust - the mean and moody leather-clad persona - was massive.

It became a huge international number one hit and spent more than six months in the charts.

Numerous hits followed throughout the world, including four more number ones Jealous Mind, You You You, Red Dress and Good Love.

In the 80s Alvin moved to Stiff Records and Pretend became a major top five hit throughout most of the world.

When he later joined Chrysalis Records he became their top selling male singles artist with three consecutive hits I Feel Like Buddy Holly, I Won't Run Away and So Near To Christmas.

His career went from strength to strength, he co-produced pop videos, presented TV specials and co-hosted TV series as well as presenting his own radio show for BBC Radio Two.

Tickets, priced £17.50, are available by ringing John Bayley on 01606 834914.
