MIDDLEWICH Clean Team's mission to 'Keep Britain Tidy' has been given a cash boost that will help it branch out into other areas.

The team has received a £2,500 grant from the Community Partnership Fund, administered by Cheshire police, and the committee hopes to buy a lap top computer with the funds so that they can make presentations to schools and potential new clean teams.

Janet Chisholm, founder member of Middlewich Clean Team, explained: "We will be putting the money straight back into our education plan. Our aim is to get in touch with more community groups and spread the message about what we have been doing in Middlewich."

The team, which formed two years ago, has already helped establish a Sandbach group and last week it made a presentation in Great Sankey, Warrington.

Janet said: "We've spoken to people in Moulton and a lady even contacted us from the Isle of Man after she saw us on television. It's fantastic that people are taking notice of what we've done. Ultimately it's my dream to get groups set up across the country and to get our environment looking lovely."
