AS a Widnesian I can't understand why people on an Internet poll believe the bridge should be called the Runcorn Bridge.
It isn't the Runcorn Bridge and it never has been - its real name is the Silver Jubilee Bridge.
However, if people are going to call the bridge by its town name, then they should call it the Widnes/Runcorn Bridge because it is just as much part of Widnes as it is Runcorn.
Please let's hear no more of this Runcorn Bridge nonsense.
