BLUES-rock specialists The Hamsters hit the stage at the Limelight, next Saturday.

Approaching their 19th year, 2005 is another big one for the trio, pictured right, with a mammoth 60-date UK tour planned in the final quarter.

Entitled The Mad, The Bad and The Dangerous, the band will team up with Wilko Johnson and John Otway for three-hour shows including two nights planned for Crewe in December.

Sheer hard work over the last two decades has established them as one of the UK's best live acts, winning a string of awards along the way, including Blueprint magazine's Best Blues Rock Band award.

Radio 2's Bob Harris is a big supporter, hailing them as one of Britain's best, as well as playing their tracks on his show, while they have also recorded two sessions for Paul Jones' Blues Show.

Often a sell-out in the mecca, advance tickets are recommended at £8.50pm.

The Hamsters are live at 9.30pm.
