GOOD friends have taken on the captaincy of their respective sections of a Warrington golf club for the next 12 months.
Val Wickens and Dave Langley have 34 years golfing experience between them as members of Birchwood Golf Club.
Val, who is the captain of the women's section, has won the club's women's championship seven times in her 14 years as a member of the Kelvin Close club.
The human resources manager for an advertising company plays off a handicap of seven.
Four weeks ago, Dave, who has been a member of Birchwood Golf Club for 19 years and has been playing the sport for 30 years, won the Manchester Alliance Pairs with club professional Paul McEwan - a first for the Birchwood club.
Dave plays off a handicap of six and is employed in sales.
