WITH reference to Gary Bebbington's illogical ideas on Warrington's heritage (Guardian, March 24).
As you say, you were born in the Elysian surroundings of Chester and its Romanesque heritage. You ask what heritage lies in Warrington, it is obvious wasting time on Queen Cartimandua of the Brigantes (pre Roman) could never be understood by you.
You do not care if our heritage goes back to the omnipotence himself (as it does), as long as the builders keep knocking down ancient Warrington buildings to build houses, you in the verdance of Grappenhall can keep what your dissertation really echoes: "My house won't be worth the obscene amount I can sell it for". If it is surrounded by housing estates occupied by third class Britons with little or no historical heritage.
The answer is obvious, go back to Chester!
