IN response to the letter from Alison Badger of Lymm (Guardian, March 31) with regard to her being fined for parking on the pavement in Wharf Street, I suggest she should pay a visit to the Police Station in Arpley Street, Warrington. There she will find numerous cars parked on the pavement as has been the custom for many years.
These belong to the police and probably any support staff working in the station. The police will no doubt say that they are not causing an obstruction, as the pavement is very wide.
My understanding is that it is against the law to park any vehicle with all four wheels on the pavement.
It would seem, as usual, there is one rule for them and one for us!
